HANALEI COLONY RESORT ANNOUNCES SPECIAL PACKAGES FOR 2009 Soft Adventure, Golf & Spa, Voluntourism and More
HAENA, KAUAI, HAWAII - Hanalei Colony Resort, a small, intimate beach resort on Kauai’s north shore, is offering a variety of packages and special values for 2009, including soft adventure, golf & spa, and voluntourism packages.
The resort’s Explore Napali Package encourages travelers to explore Kauai’s spectacular north shore. The package includes five or seven nights accommodations in a two-bedroom Ocean View condo, a two-hour guided tour of historic Limahuli Garden, a kayak for a day on the Hanalei River, an in-room or beachfront massage for two, a guidebook on hiking Kauai’s trails (including the world-famous Napali coastline, located nearby), and a special hiking gift. The 2009 Explore Napali five-night package price is $1,865 during low season (now thru May 31, and September 9 thru December 20) and $1,990 for high season travel (June 1 through September 8, and December 21 through January 4, 2010). The seven-night package price is $2,150 for low season and $2,300 during high season.
Hanalei Colony’s “Tee Up & Wind Down” package offers golf at Kauai’s acclaimed Princeville Prince Golf Course or Poipu Bay Golf Course, and spa treatments at Hanalei Day Spa, located at the resort. The package provides flexibility, so two guests can both enjoy the golf and spa activities, or one person can head to the golf course while the other luxuriates at the spa. “Tee Up & Wind Down” includes five nights Ocean View accommodations, a “Back Nine” welcome basket upon arrival with a variety of golf-related gifts, and choice of two items from the following activity list (the same item can be selected twice, if desired): Two rounds of golf (for two people playing together) at the top-ranked Prince Golf Course on Kauai’s north shore or the renowned Poipu Bay Golf Course on the south shore; two Golfer Spa Treatments at Hanalei Day Spa (includes a sunburn relief treatment with head, foot, and hand massage, a Eucalyptus Mint facial mask, and a protein smoothie); two Pamper Me spa treatments (includes a one-hour massage and 30-minute body polish); or one round at the Prince Course and one Pamper Me or Golfer Spa treatment. The Tee Up & Wind Down package price is $2,180 for Low Season travel and $2,310 during High season.
Hanalei Colony has partnered with the nearby 1,000-acre Limahuli Garden and Preserve to offer a package combining vacation fun with volunteer opportunities. The Beach & Botany Package requires guests to make a minimum commitment of two daily four-hour volunteer sessions per person (must be at least 14 years old) at Limahuli Garden. The package also includes five or seven nights accommodations, a picnic basket lunch for two, a one-day kayak rental for two on the Hanalei River, an oceanside massage for two by the therapists of Hanalei Day Spa, annual membership to the National Tropical Botanical Garden, and a special arrival gift providing a few essential items for “tropical gardeners.” The Beach & Botany package prices range from $1,995 for five nights in an Ocean View unit during Low Season to $3,490 for seven nights in a Premium Ocean Front unit during High Season dates.
All of the above package prices are subject to applicable taxes and are based on double occupancy. The packages cannot be combined with any other special offer. An Avis rental car can be arranged through the resort, as well, for an additional fee.
For mature travelers over age 65, Hanalei Colony offers a 20% discount off rack rates year-round. The property continues to offer its longstanding Seventh Night Free program, applicable to all room categories. Hanalei Colony also offers full wedding coordination services and a variety of packages and amenities for weddings and honeymoons.
The five-acre, low-rise Hanalei Colony Resort is situated on a long curve of golden beach near the end of the road in Haena, Kauai’s remote northernmost town. The intimate resort offers 48 two-bedroom condominium units with fully equipped kitchens and private lanais (patios), all with sweeping views of Hanalei Bay or lush mountains. Described as “unspoiled and unplugged,” Hanalei Colony prides itself on its secluded, restful atmosphere. The units do not have televisions, stereos, or phones.
Resort amenities include a swimming pool, whirlpool spa, barbecue and picnic areas, free wireless internet service on property, a guest laundromat and twice-weekly maid service. Guests are invited to a weekly complimentary continental breakfast and an afternoon mai tai party. The award-winning Mediterranean Gourmet restaurant is open daily (except Sundays) from lunch through dinner, and the cozy Napali Art Gallery & Coffee Shop offers morning coffee drinks and pastries as well as mid-day snacks to go. In addition, a variety of beauty and wellness treatments, including therapeutic massage, are offered on-property at Hanalei Day Spa.
