While staying at Harrahs, New Orleans I felt a sense of peacefulness. Even though Katrina was on my mind (you can't help but think of the devastation when you visit New Orleans), but somehow I was at peace. Talking to the spirited locals lets any visitor know that somehow, someway, everything is going to be alright. The people are upbeat and hopeful. I must admit -- I've been to New Orleans many times, but this time it was different. As I laid in my bed at the Harrahs Hotel and Casino, my own troubles seem to drift away. I wasn't selfish any longer (thinking of my self). I was thinking of how the city is coming along in the most graceful way. The people are hard workers in New Orleans... they are on a mission. The businesses are doing their best to get back to normal and the travelers (I hate to call people tourist) are having fun as they put money into the New Orleans economy. Harrah's Hotel is designed to blend gracefully into its surroundings on the edge of the city's historic warehouse district, a neighborhood that is home to many of the city's museums and art galleries. In addition to creating a street level exterior for the hotel reminiscent of the early 1800's, Harrah's also wanted the property to reflect New Orleans' world-famous culture and history. The new hotel is designed to feature many aspects of the area's art, music, and food. As a result the hotels public areas and private rooms feature some of the the most dramatic works of the areas most notable artist.
