The 2006 Genie is a blend of Chardonnay, Trebbiano, Muscat Canelli, Marsanne, Rousanne, and Viognier. The 2006 Mingle is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The wine opens to blackberry fruit, followed by soft spice and s short finish that invites a second sip. Great to drink by itself as an “evening relaxer”, Mingle is also a superb accompaniment to a variety of foods (it virtually screams “PASTA” when poured into a glass). Ask people what they associate with “Carnivale” and most will say “fun.” Ask people what they associate with “sangria” and most will say “fun.” Thus, Carnivale is the logical first line extension for the fun – and slightly irreverent – Muse brand. Carnivale exudes the festive nature of sangria – but with a decidedly adult flavor profile. The base for Carnivale is a superb quality Syrah from San Luis Obispo on the Central Coast. To the base, we add small amounts of natural flavorings to create a unique – but decidedly sangria-like product that remains, essentially, 100% wine (99.5%, actually). The result is a wine that adds fun to any occasion – large group or small. It can be served chilled, over ice, or at cellar temperature. For a party, try pouring Carnivale in a punch bowl and adding some fresh orange slices, fresh pineapple slices, or scoops of orange or pineapple sorbet.
